There is never any distance between me and the place where I am, at least not physically. Atopia is boundless wondering, a relieve from the world that incessantly imposes itself. Placelessness. Atopia is a place where we can be at peace with ourselves, a place that does not impose anything on us. It is a moment where a thing, an event, a place exists as an isolated fact before becoming the subject of a contemplation, an opinion. The ultimate freedom. Atopia, from the Greek ά-τοπος, literally means without-place. It is a place without borders, it is somewhere and nowhere at the same time. Borders allow us to make choices and symbolize the dilemma. As they are political, they brake and delineate. Making choices means loss, gain, the unknown, the unknowing. It embodies difference and standardization. And, boundaries are de facto ambiguous. the imaginative projection of moods in landscapes reads like an ideological dream, the harmonious quest with the landscape is ultimately no more than a compensation for the violence that has invaded our world. These series pursues naivety.
