For the last two year I have working on a project on the small Taiwanese islands of Kinmen and Matsu. These tiny islands in between the island of Taiwan and mainland China tell the complex story on how both nations with a common past, still have a tense relationship. Since all the attention nowadays goes to mainland China, this project focus on the underdog of history, the Republic of China, better know as Taiwan.
 
A part of the project has been published on Scopio Network and was part of Encontros Da Imagem 2017 in Braga.

Onder leiding van Joachim Naudts (curator FOMU Antwerpen) praten deze 4 fotografen over hun passie voor fotografie. Bieke Depoorter is lid van het vermaarde fotoagentschap Magnum. Haar fotografie bracht haar de wereld rond, van de Trans-Siberische spoorlijn via the Big Apple tot aan de Egyptische revolutie.  Harry Gruyaert is sinds 1982 Magnumfotograaf. Hij publiceerde meerdere boeken over zijn fotografisch werk, onder meer over Marokko en België. Vooral contrasterend licht en kleuren zijn kenmerkend voor zijn foto’s.  Jan Rosseel realiseerde een opvallend essay over de Bende van Nijvel waarvan zijn vader een van de slachtoffers was. Hiermee introduceerde hij een nieuwe vorm van documentairefotografie waarin hij de realiteit met fictie mengt. In zijn autonoom werk als fotograaf gaat Franky Verdickt op zoek naar de ideale maatschappij. Hij toont echte plaatsen en echte mensen, maar neemt een loopje met de realiteit. In feite creëert hij zijn eigen interpretatie van die perfecte plaats.
